A donation of €100,000 from the Lebara Foundation is helping the Romanian Red Cross (RRC) ensure that children and young people across the country receive a fully rounded education.
The money is funding the continuation of the RRC’s Humanitarian Values programme, which began in 2009 in collaboration with the Belgium Red Cross, and that has so far reached 6,000 students.
The programme teaches volunteers to deliver training on humanitarian values to young people, to help them understand how to become responsible and engaged citizens who contribute to the welfare of their community.
The programme also combats negative stereotypes regarding migrants and minorities, highlighting these groups’ contribution to development and diversity within Romania.
